“As the sound manager of this year’s high school musical, you are to be commended for your part in building our youth for their future. Your pursuit of excellence on behalf of all the students associated with the production is most laudable. Your guidance and vision for what the finished product would look like as well as your skill overseeing the specific and necessary components of the show were excellent. Thank you for taking on such a huge undertaking and carrying it through to such a fantastic outcome. You diligence and commitment to our musical and to our high school students are outstanding.”

“GB Audio has been the talent behind our sound in both our theatrical productions and our recordings for many years. His work is extraordinary. His gift is not only the speed and complexity at which he is able to work (which is paramount in a live production, as well as a recording or editing session), his gift is his wonderful gift of music – tonal and rhythmic skills at the most brilliant of levels. You can’t even imagine his experience and expertise with sound in both enhancement and recording. I would call him one of the great musical geniuses of my career, and have been both blessed and nurtured by his continued dedication to our program, our students, and our professional staff in all aspects of our programming at St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute. “
James V Deiotte
Choral Director, St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute, Musical Producer, Private Voice and Piano Instructor

“GB Audio is an excellent choice for your school’s audio needs. The company is known for their high standard of quality as well as their attention to detail. Owner Glenn Bernardis in addition to having a ‘great set of ears’ is extremely sensitive to the needs & concerns of any school project, and ‘goes the extra mile’ to assure that the process is a pleasurable experience for both the director and students alike. I highly recommend GB Audio for any school’s audio needs. It has been my pleasure working with Glenn in the past, and I will continue to use GB Audio for any future projects at Niagara Falls High School.”
Jack R. Prybylski
Award-Winning Jazz Saxophone Player
Director of Bands, Niagara Falls High School

“Glenn Bernardis has been invaluable to me for all my theatrical needs. He has provided me with professional recordings for a variety of productions. He has produced back-up recordings for A New Brain at Musicalfare Theatre as well as my production of Pink Floyd’s The Wall for Cadenza Productions and the Alleyway Theatre. He has also provided recordings for my improv comedy troupe The Eclectic Company. Glenn has furnished sound support for numerous high school productions I have been involved with, most notably for St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute’s productions at Rockwell Hall on Buffalo State’s campus. What impresses me most about Glenn is his professionalism, his speed, his technical ability and knowledge, and his willingness to go that extra mile to ensure that the job, no matter how big or small, is always done right the first time. His courtesy is always welcome and assured. I recommend him to anyone who expects the highest quality for their theatrical sound and recording needs.”
Michael Hake
Independent Musician/Musical Director/Educator.

“I have had the privilege of working with Glenn Bernardis for twelve years. He is THE recording and acoustic engineer for Williamsville East High School. He has recorded our Wind and Jazz Ensemble numerous times. At least five times he recorded our Jazz Ensemble for the Essentially Ellington Festival at Lincoln Center in New York City. In 1999 we were accepted into the festival, and in 2002, we placed in the 15-20 range nationally. Two other times we placed in the top 50 bands in the nation. Much of our success was due to the outstanding recording job that GB Audio does. He makes a bad band sound good and a good band sound great. This is in part, because he has an exceptional ear. Unlike many recording engineers, he himself is a skillful musician, composer and performer. He can listen to a concert band and in no time at all identify intonation and balance issues. I remember one time we were recording Lincolnshire Posy and he found our inexperienced 3rd trombonist in less than a minute. Most professional clinicians can’t analyze a band with his aural discernment! Glenn has also been a fabulous consultant for our theater programs. He has helped us purchase equipment that is user friendly and that sounds good. Numerous times he has worked with our stage crew transforming a mediocre experience into a professional production.

“He also has volunteered his time numerous times to speak to music students at East during career day. His presentations are inspirational and chocked full of information. Glenn Bernardis is one of the polished gems of Western New York. He is unusually gifted and well-versed in all areas of sound. I recommend him to everyone I can. “
Dr. Steve Shewan
Composer, Clinician, Band Director, Williamsville East High School

“Since Glenn Bernardis became a part of our team at Lancaster High School, the sound for our annual musical production and concerts has never been better. After many years of being frustrated with the sound for our shows, I heard Glenn’s work at Rockwell Hall with the St. Joe’s musicals, I asked for his card and brought him to Lancaster High. He tweaked our entire sound system and taught our student crew members how to operate it properly. He has an excellent rapport with teenagers. Our students like and respect him and the sound for our shows has been excellent ever since he came to work here. I would never do another show here without him! He has also installed recording systems in all three of our ensemble rehearsal rooms, and showed the members of our crew how to organize and maintain our sound equipment storage rooms.”
Gary Lee
Director of Choral Ensembles, Director of Performing Arts, Lancaster High School

“As Director of Musicals at Kenmore West High School, I have had the opportunity and privilege to have Mr. Bernardis essentially run all aspects of sound at our shows. To date Mr. Bernardis has done sound for Godspell, Crazy for You, & Kiss Me Kate. In all shows his handling of both dialog and singing was done to perfection. Mr. Bernardis is a perfectionist. He is able to have the actors sound great whether they are singing with a full orchestra or conversing quietly through dialog. He involves our students to the point that they, under his direction, become the ones running sound for the show. Mr. Bernardis teaches them to monitor, repair, and run mics for each actor. He also teaches them the
conceptual importance of sound in a show. He works with me in helping me find any sound effect imaginable and monitors each show to make the next one even better. In addition to working the shows, Mr. Bernardis has redesigned our entire sound system in the Kenmore West auditorium. I can easily say that when I direct a musical, I do not have the headache of worrying about how the show will sound. Mr. Bernardis alleviates me of that worry entirely.”
Mike Haggerty
Theatre Instructor, Kenmore West High School
Assistant Principal, Kenmore West Middle School

“I have had the pleasure of working with Glenn Bernardis as sound technology consultant to the Lancaster High School Music Department over the past three years. Since Glenn has been working with our students, they are more secure and professional with their work in the sound booth. Glenn has installed wiring and speakers for our new and renovated music suite, and has done extensive work in the Lancaster High School auditorium to make our sound system more efficient as well as user friendly. I am proud to recommend Glenn Bernardis for your school sound technology needs.”
Richard Goss
Music Chairman and Instructor, Lancaster School District

“I have worked with Glenn Bernardis for five years in my capacity as Technical Director/Stage Crew Faculty Advisor, and can honestly say I don’t know how we could have done what we have without him. Glenn has helped us on over 10 shows (musical and dramatic) and has been instrumental in a major upgrade in the sound and audio systems in our auditorium. He not only has vast technical knowledge, but he approaches his work with our school as an educator as well as a technical advisor. His rapport with our students is remarkable, and has taught our kids about working with sound and (more importantly) each other. He is truly a remarkable asset to our community of theatre educators.”
John Rigney
Technical Director/ Stage Crew Faculty Adviser, Kenmore West High School

“Glenn Bernardis worked as a consultant at Clarence High School for 3 hours and, in that short amount of time, was able to improve the sound of our auditorium P.A. to the best it has been in years. He needed only 15 minutes of precious rehearsal time and then spent the rest of his time working while the cast and crew were rehearsing. Glenn used the equalizer and other effects to totally eliminate our feedback problem. He rewired the board to make it easy enough for anyone to understand. Most of all, he worked with the students who were running the sound so that they could do it themselves. Glenn knew that we were on a limited budget and made suggestions and gave advice that would not break the bank.”

“Not only is he a technician with the experience and background that makes him valuable asset to any performance, he is also a musician with an incredible ear that allows him to use his knowledge of sound engineering to its fullest. Lastly, he is a kind and patient man with a sense of humor and a passion for the arts that allows him to be a great teacher and mentor for students. I wished we could have kept him around for the entire run of the show, but we were on a limited budget and he is well worth the fee for his services.”
Louis Shafer
Director of Vocal Music, Music Director Clarence High School Drama Club

“I am writing to express my appreciation, and indeed, my adulation, for the gifts that sound engineer Glenn Bernardis of GB Audio has brought to our Upper School music program here at Nichols. I met Glenn through our mutual work on the St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute spring musicals, which are produced at Rockwell Hall (Glenn has designed the sound for these productions for many years, and I have assisted Jim Deiotte with the vocal work). I came to Nichols in the fall of 2002. As you may know, Nichols is blessed with an extraordinary theater space, the Flickinger Performing Arts Center. I try to incorporate into our concerts the best production values possible, and that’s what collaborating with Glenn allows me to do.

Over the past three years, Glenn has designed sound and engineered our winter and spring music department concerts, and mastered several live concert recordings for my Upper School ensembles. He has also worked with the technical director of our FPAC, Curt Steinzor, to reorganize and optimize the sound system that we have in the theater, and create a long term plan for improving it.

Glenn will be working on our winter concert, and he will be designing the sound for our extraordinary spring tribute to Nichols alumnus and composer David Shire, who will be in town for several weeks doing workshops and master classes, as well as performing with the students on April 21 and 22. We would not be able to attempt this type of high profile event with our students if we did not have the expertise of and ability to collaborate with real theater professionals like Glenn. I recommend him without reservation to your program.”
Karen Wieland
Upper School Vocal Music Director, Nichols School

“I just wanted to let you know that I truly appreciate your help this year. I hope you plan on staying in the area, I plan on contacting you next year as well! (and many more after that!)Thank you again for being such a good model for the students and giving them the opportunity for success such as you did.
Again, thank you!!”

“Thank you for supporting the Erie County Music Educators Jazz festival with your audio expertise. Western New York is extremely fortunate to have GB Audio working so hard in so many venues throughout the year.”
Al Ripley
Erie County Music Educators Association Executive Director

I want to let you know how much I appreciated your professionalism. I have conducted many vocal jazz ensembles and musicals over the years and have never worked with a sound engineer who truly “gets” the importance of not only balancing the voices, but also the rhythm section, and making sure that everyone can hear each other. Thank you again for your hard work in setting up all of the equipment and making sure that everything was well balanced throughout the rehearsal and performance. I greatly appreciate your work and professionalism!
